# First LangChain Docs Contribution - Next Steps?

I opened Issue #5863 for documentation updates and included a link to the changes in my fork. I read through the contribution guidelines, but since this is my first time contributing to the LangChain docs, I wasn’t sure whether I should go ahead and open a PR since the changes are just updates to existing documentation.

I’m wondering if I should continue waiting for maintainer approval, or if there’s another step contributors typically take before opening a PR. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

@sanne , you just open the issue and then tag one of the maintainer and then wait for one of them to assign you an issue.
